Camelie sul Lario is back on lake Como: Villa Monastero, Villa Carlotta and Villa Melzi will propose visits to their respective botanical gardens, with an in-depth look at the collections of camellias.
VILLA MELZI BELLAGIO:
A day dedicated to the 150 species of Camellias with Paolo Cottini and Ernesto Mistrangeli, who on Saturday 2nd April at 2.30 pm will hold a free guided tour during which it will be possible to admire the flowering of both the historic camellias in the garden and those of the new collection coming from mother plants that belonged to the nurseries of the Rovelli Brothers of Pallanza

VILLA CARLOTTA TREMEZZO:
April 2nd – 10.30 am, 12.30 pm, 2.30 pm A wonderful protagonist: the camellia, one of the most extraordinary treasures of the Garden of Villa Carlotta. Today it is one of the most common flowers in gardens and has many varieties, but when it arrived in Europe from Japan, towards the end of the 1700s, its beauty aroused great surprise. The spectacle of its flowering, which goes from February to April for the late varieties, gives the garden enchanting shades of white, pink and red every year. During the visit we will discover many curiosities about their names, history, poetry and noble traditions.
April 2nd – 4.30 pm Which child is not captivated by the charm of flowers? With our eyes wide open and full of curiosity, we visit the garden and admire together the spectacle of the flowering of camellias, discovering the history and secrets of this amazing flower
VILLA MONASTERO VARENNA:
Villa Monastero will offer two guided tours of the Botanical Garden on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd April at 3.00 pm for a maximum of 30 people (without reservation).
