Lake Como in spring: a real treasure |
Spring is upon us with its amazing colors and scents and the gardens and parks of Lake Como are ready to reopen their gates, giving us the opportunity to witness the spectacle of the rebirth of nature.
Soon the beautiful Villa Serbelloni Park, currently owned by the Rockefeller Foundation, which covers a large part of the Bellagio promontory, opens its gates for visits. A place of peace and tranquility where in the past great personalities found inspiration, it is currently a must during a stay on the lake. It allows you to enjoy unique views of Bellagio and the entire lake and to learn about the history of the place.
We will have to wait a few more days (March 23rd) to be able to visit the gardens of Villa Melzi instead, where the spring blooms of camellias and azaleas are now preparing for an explosion of colors. The gardens will be open every day until the end of October from 10am to 7pm.
Also not to be missed in the surroundings of Bellagio, easily reachable both by public and private transport, Villa Carlotta (opening March 22nd), Villa del Balbianello (open daily March 15th), Villa Monastero (opening March 2nd) and Villa Cipressi (open only Saturday and Sunday till March 28th, from March 28th open daily).
