Access is allowed to a maximum of 30 people per visit and only by guided tours. Booking is mandatory and you can buy tickets online only with Bellagio Lake Como on this portal.
The hystory of Villa Serbelloni
The park of Villa Serbelloni extends on the steep promontory that separates the two branches of the lake, where, according to tradition, Pliny the Younger owned a villa called Tragoedia. The Park is owned by The Rockefeller Foundation, which by kind permission authorizes the Municipality of Bellagio to organize guided tours and the proceeds of visits are intended to subsidize social and cultural activities.
The original layout of the villa dates back to 1400 and was built by order of Marchesino Stanga, feudal lord of the place. In 1788 it passed to Count Alessandro Serbelloni, an exponent of one of the noblest and richest families of Lombardy, who dedicated himself to it body and soul, focusing mainly on the construction of the immense outdoor park, where he built carriageable tracks, At the death of the Count, the villa passed from property to property and, at the end of the 19th century, was transformed into a hotel. The complex was later acquired by the American Ella Walker, Princess Della Torre Tasso, who decided to live there again, giving it to the Rockefeller Foundation after her death. Today the villa is home to conferences and study stays of the Foundation.

Amazing!
The guided tour in the garden of Villa Serbelloni is really fantastic. You will walk in one of the most beautiful environments you have ever seen and will get amazing views at every corner into the different arms of lake Como.
Great history and unbelievable views!
Really loved our guide and the inside peak at the park of the Rockefeller Foundation’s very cool Villa Serbelloni. Pliny the Younger may have had a Villa here, and it was later developed by the Visconti family in part due to its strategic location. This is a vigorous walk up and down steep hillsides but in wide, stone paved roads. One of best activities of our trip.
A sunny afternoon walk into a beautiful nature park
…This tour offers one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen as we walked uphill. The views of the lake and the Italian Alps along with the lake and its towns is stunning. Bring your camera!
