Together at Park of Spina Verde
Are you an outdoor enthusiast?
Then we suggest you do a nice family daytrip in the Regional park of Spina Verde with guided tour at Baradello Castle
13 thematic routes (naturalistic, panoramic, historic-archaeological and sport) go through the park. To admire the stunning views on Como bay and enjoy a lunch in one of the several huts along the way, we suggest you take Path 1, which corresponds to the crest of the park. We depart from Piazza Camerlata (bus n.1 from Como, Piazza Cavour) and we follow the signs to “Parco Spina Verde”. Once we get to a crossroads, we can take a brief detour on the right to reach Baradello Castle (guided tours every Sunday in September, in winter by appointment). The castle dominates the city of Como and from the tower, on clear days, we can see Milan’s skyscrapers, the Appennines and Monte Rosa. Back to the crossroads, we follow path 1. Along the way, we find several huts, among them Baita Baradello, la Baita Respaù, la Baita Elisa e la Baita Monte Croce. Here we can have a break and enjoy a lunch with typical dishes. The path is mainly flat and with no difficulties, except some brief steep stretches, and it has got beautiful panoramic points. The path ends in San Fermo, where you can catch bus 1 back to Camerlata and Como. For more info, maps and itineraries:
